This blog started out to list my research on Indian Wealth Practices. But then I realised that my years of work on toolbox.com may have been archived by the site or is not readily available. So now this is my consolidated blog. Some day, of course, I plan to take this content to my own website with Data localisation.

Of all the things I thought I would be in life, publisher of a children's daily, and a non-fiction bestselling author, were definitely not on the list.
Come to think of it, neither was IT professional.
As a young person, I wanted to write fiction, be a teacher, run an NGO, be a famous poet. (I wrote fiction, but got on the bestseller list for nonfiction, am not a teacher, do run an NGO, and did not become a poet, much less a famous one).
Yet, when the time came, I found myself doing and loving all these things.
I am sure that this is the story of most of us who are reading this post. What we thought we would be at the age of 17, and what we ended up being, were two reasonably different things.
Yet, at this time, there are millions of young people out there who are being asked to decide what they want to be in life.
"If you don't take engineering, you can't be a techie."
"If you take science, you can do anything you want later in life."
But if I were to outline the one skill that basically helped me in my career, it was not academic background or choice of subjects. It was, among other things, a simple attitudinal thing - "Kar ke dekhte hain.." (Let's try it + some passion).
For the experiences, I am richer. For the learning, very grateful.
Kar ke dekhte hain.
On Saturday, I wrote on a few Whatsapp groups about my book - The Small But Ultimate Book of Online Safety.
And then, I have no idea what happened.
Within a day, the book had made it to #8 on the Amazon Bestseller List in Computer Safety.
By Sunday night, Amazon had featured the book in their Hot New Releases and the book had moved to #2 on the Bestseller List.
I messaged my friends and family - "#2 on the Bestseller List!" and went to sleep.
And on Monday forenoon, the book was #1 on the Amazon Bestseller List in Computer Safety.
What is the book about?
This has been a labour of love for two years and counting. The good thing is, that in about 40 pages, it covers bite sized advice for safety from identity theft, cyber fraud, et al. The bad news is, its not just relevant - everything in this is largely prevalant. When I started writing the book, fake amazon GVs fraud was unheard of. Today, everyone knows someone who has gone through this. Halfway through, deepfakes based kidnapping was a plot for a short story. Today, it is one of the most used MOs.
I hope that you find this short book useful for your family - esp the parents and other senior citizens. And for your employees.
The book is available in all geographies. Listed on Amazon worldwide.

It was quite by accident that I got this book in my hands. Mothi Jacob George sir, the Director of the school, was kind enough to share this book of stories written by their students with me.
It is such a pleasure to review this collection of short stories.
The highlight of the collection, of course, are the four biographical essays written by sir. Between them, they are the Guide To A Well-lived Life. These essays have been shared with other parents as well, and with the children one knows. Each essay teaches through sharing life experiences without being preachy. For me, it was also the realisation that various elements of a person's life come together to form the tapestry of their personality.
The children's stories are as varied as the authors. From outer space to ghosts, the collection features everything. 1:99 is a shocking sci-fi story from the future - shocking because it is not entirely impossible, and warns us of a small mistake with big repercussions.
The Moon is made of Cheese is a very heartwarming story.
The Birthday Wish made me cry.
Some of them betray the innocence of the authors. Most of them, definitely, are proof of solid talent.
I enjoyed this book very much!
